Newsletter Week 6 Term 3
Welcome to week six. Week 5 was an action filled week, culminating in the Year 3-4 Poetry Competition last Friday. A huge congratulations to all our finalists for all the practise that goes into a polished performance in front of a large audience! A special congratulations to our place getters! The competition was very tough and you all made Mrs Hansen's job difficult! Thank you to our amazing parents who have all gotten in behind your children to support them with this wonderful opportunity to develop confidence when speaking and performing in front of others!
Gymnastics
A huge thank you to all the parents and caregivers that came and helped on the school trip to 'School of Gymnastics' last week. The children really loved their sessions and we were excited to see the growth in their confidence on a range of apparatus.
Maths-a-thon
Today the children will be tested on their Maths-a-thon questions. We know you have supported them with both the practise and the sponsors - so a huge thank you for this! Their scores will come home today, with sponsor forms and money being returned to the school office from tomorrow onwards.
Completed sponsorship forms and money need to be returned by the 8 September. However, these are not needed until after the 28 August, once the children have completed the test.
Myths and Legends -Mask Making
Thank you to those who have donated a koha for our Maori and Greek masks. These donations can continue to come in and we will be purchasing the masks later this week. This is very much appreciated.
Calendars, Cards, Notebooks and Diary's 2018
You can view your child's artwork for calendars, cards, notebooks and diaries for 2018 at the office from this week.
Ice Cream Lids and Aprons for Clay
If you have spare ice cream lids can you please send them to school. These are a good surface for children to work off with the clay. Also, if your child has an apron or an old t-shirt at home, it might be a good idea for them to bring to school for when they are working with the clay. However, it isn't essential.
